Dear Friends,
Thank you for your interest in the Chicago Missionary Study Class. May the Lord bless you in the knowledge that His gospel is advancing in the world, “to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
We look forward to gathering again in 2024. The next Missions Encounter will be held at Lombard Gospel Chapel on Saturday, January 13 at 6:30pm. George Bristow and Kevin Schiltz will be speaking about ministry and outreach opportunities among Muslims, both in the Chicago-area and abroad. If you have never been to a Missions Encounter, come check it out!
Annual Conference The 2024 Missions Conference will be held at Lombard Gospel Chapel, March 8th & 9th. The event will kick off with a youth gathering on Friday at 7PM with pizza, volleyball, and a message from Luca Drago. Saturday will feature Terry Wilson of Everyday Publications Inc. EPI is celebrating 60 years of this worldwide ministry of teaching the Word of God in simple, understandable languages. We are in for a treat with live music from the Emmaus Bible College Choir and dinner provided. You will not want to miss this!
New Leadership Vacancies
Lou Suraino and Bill Carrera have indicated plans to step down from their leadership roles as of April 2024. The Lord has been gracious to this organization in providing such dedicated and trusted guys who have supported missions with their service for many decades. We are looking for committed people to serve in the offices of president, vice president, and treasurer. Please confer with your assembly’s elders or a CMSC representative for more information.
Missionary Apartments
A total renovation of the six-unit Chicago Missionary Guest Apartments was completed this year. Each of the apartments has received updated kitchens with new appliances. Air conditioning was installed in each unit, a welcomed addition for the busy summer months. New furnishings and décor, fresh paint, and new carpeting has brought a warm touch to the entire building. Common hallways and stairways have been repaired, painted, and carpeted. The building has a new roof and gutters, and a resurfacing of the parking lot is underway. Praise the Lord, these repairs were completed without incurring any debt with funds provided by gifts from assemblies, organizations, and individuals. Thank you to all of you who have made this possible. We pray this will continue to be a wonderful provision for returning and furloughing missionaries sent from among us in the years to come.
